Most traders know one thing: Trends matter

What’s harder is knowing when a trend is strong, when it’s fading, and when it’s worth staying in. Solar Wave is built to answer exactly that.

Instead of relying on traditional smoothing methods such as moving averages, it is built on price action and a proprietary volatility measure, allowing it to respond more directly to market movements.

When you purchase Solar Wave, you will also receive 2 ready-to-use indicator templates to help you get started quickly. For a deeper understanding of its functionality and setup, refer to the included Trader Manual.

Understanding the concept

Market trends don’t move in straight lines – they develop in phases, expanding and retracing over time. Solar Wave approaches trends as “waves,” where each movement carries both:

  • Direction (uptrend or downtrend)
  • Strength (strong or weakening momentum)

By translating these 2 elements into visual signals, Solar Wave helps you interpret trend conditions without manually analyzing multiple indicators.

How Solar Wave works

Solar Wave focuses on 2 main components, both derived from ninZaATR-based distance calculations relative to price:

1. Trend Vector

This is the core element of the indicator.

  • Indicates trend direction (up or down)
  • Reflects trend strength (strong or weak)
  • Provides a quick visual reading of market conditions

How to interpret it:

  • Flat movement → The trend is weakening, possibly consolidating or nearing a reversal
  • Upward slope → Strong uptrend
  • Downward slope → Strong downtrend

The indicator also classifies the market into 4 states:

  • Strong uptrend
  • Weak uptrend
  • Strong downtrend
  • Weak downtrend

These states are displayed using bar colors, plot colors, and background highlights, making it easier to assess conditions at a glance.

2. Trailing Stop

This plot is designed for trade management.

  • Acts as a dynamic reference for stop placement
  • Moves with the trend to help protect profits
  • Allows you to stay in trends longer without reacting prematurely to minor pullbacks

Pullback-based entries

Solar Wave emphasizes Pullbacks within a trend as potential entry opportunities.

Since trends typically move in waves rather than straight lines, retracements can offer more favorable entry points. Based on internal testing:

  • The 1st and 2nd pullbacks tend to provide the most reliable setups
  • These signals are clearly marked to help identify timing within an ongoing trend

Trend step analysis

Another important feature is the trend step print.

  • Identifies periods when the Trend Vector becomes flat
  • Helps define phases within a trend
  • Signals weakening momentum when trend steps decrease, indicating a potential end of the trend

Furthermore, Solar Wave uses ninZaATR, a modified version of the traditional Average True Range. It is designed to perform more effectively on intraday charts, respond more dynamically to changes in volatility, and remain available as a standalone indicator within the ninZa.co ecosystem.

If you’re serious about trading trends, Solar Wave gives you a clearer way to read momentum, time your entries, and stay in the move when it matters most.

Key features
